However, other information was accessible, and this could be used by threat actors to pursue their own, insidious ends – and competitors like NordPass and 1Password have not had issues like these. On the one hand, no customer passwords were compromised in either incident, thanks to LastPass's zero-knowledge architecture. In the second, unusual activity was noticed within a third-party cloud storage service. In the first instance, LastPass's source code was stolen, as well as some information pertaining to individual customers. A class action lawsuit has now been filed against the company. LastPass had its first major security event in 2015, but recently, the provider reported two high-profile security incidents occurring in August 2022 and November 2022, both linked to the same threat actor. LastPass can auto-generate secure passwords – a unique, unguessable one for each of your online accounts – then autofill these securely as you log in All you need to remember is one master password for your LastPass account – just make sure it’s both secure and memorable. It can auto-generate secure passwords – a unique, unguessable one for each of your online accounts – then autofill these securely as you log in. LastPass can alleviate all this risk, and make it easier to manage all your various online accounts. On top of this, too many users rely on classic, but easily guessable, passwords such as ‘123456', ‘password', ‘qwerty', and variations of pets’ names or the names of family members. That’s highly risky – if the login data for even one of your accounts is ever stolen, then hackers have they key to all the others that share that password. All too often, users pick one password, then re-use it over and over. After all, it's a pain to remember five different passwords, let alone 10 or 20. Left to their own devices, most users are terrible at creating passwords. 1Password, for example, has a much cleaner security record and has never been breached. If you do think it's the right provider for you, go for it – but we'd advise checking the best password managers on the market before you make your decision. This shouldn't necessarily consign the provider to the software blacklist – no actual user passwords were stolen – but it's good to keep in mind when reading this review. LastPass has, however, had two security incidentsin the last twelve months that have called the provider's credentials as a secure password manager into question. Ideal for smaller companies, LastPass Teams costs $4/user/month, whereas the LastPass Business plan, which costs $6/user/month, is better for larger businesses. LastPass Premium costs $3 per month ($36 annually), while their Family plan costs only marginally more at $4 per month ($48 annually). If the free plan isn't enough for you, LastPass offers some more robust paid plans for businesses and individuals alike. This popular password manager can create passwords for you and store them securely, auto-filling them when needed. LastPass is one of the best password managers you can choose – it’s easy to set up, flexible, and even has a respectable free plan available.

Furthermore, SIR may be used to accurately diagnose CECS of the forearm.ĬECS athletes chronic exertional compartment syndrome compartment syndrome exercise MRI forearm compartment syndrome forearm pain. This study confirms that significant SI changes are apparent in patients with CECS of the forearm when making use of a standardised pre- and post-exercise MRI protocol. A case of chronic exertional compartment syndrome of the forearm flexor muscles after routine, strenuous work activity is presented. The extensor carpi radialis, flexor digitorum profundus and flexor digitorum superficialis muscles were most commonly involved. After post:pre-exercise comparisons, a statistically significant difference was found between control and patient groups ( p = 0.0010). It describes which clinical tests are most helpful for diagnosis and which findings may be distracting. This case report and review of the literature may be helpful to the clinician facing similar cases. Compartments of the leg or arm are most commonly involved. Chronic exertional compartment syndrome of the forearm is extremely rare, especially in the female athlete. Acute compartment syndrome is a medical emergency and is often the result of a traumatic injury, such as a fracture severe muscle bruises injuries that crush part of the arm or leg serious burns or complications during surgery. There are two main types: acute and chronic. Signal intensities were evaluated pre- and post-exercise in involved muscle groups and ratios were calculated.Ī total of 86 SIs were measured (43 pre- and 43 post-exercise) in nine study participants (five patients and four controls). Compartment syndrome is a condition in which increased pressure within one of the bodys anatomical compartments results in insufficient blood supply to tissue within that space. Forearm pump, or chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) is a condition that causes forearm pain often accompanied by numbness and tingling in the hand. The lower leg, buttock, or thigh is usually involved. A specific, reproducible pre- and post-exercise MRI scanning protocol was utilised in both patient and control subjects between 20. Also called exertional compartment syndrome, it may be caused by regular, vigorous exercise. The study retrospectively examined MRI scans of patients treated for CECS of the forearm and compared these to the MRI scans of asymptomatic high-level rowers. Also, to objectively measure MRI SIs within muscle compartments when using a pre- and post-exercise regime and calculating a signal intensity ratio (SIR) between post- and pre-exercise studies. To assess and quantify signal intensity (SI) changes of involved muscles in patients with CECS of the forearm compared to healthy control subjects competing in similar sporting disciplines. The acute compartment syndrome (ACS), most commonly occurring after serious injury such as fractures, crush injury or revascularization, is a true surgical. The diagnosis remains challenging due to the absence of objective, reproducible diagnostic studies. Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) of the forearm is a rare but important cause of morbidity amongst athletes involved in strenuous upper limb activities. One of the most common Windows 10 user accounts is what’s known as “Administrator.” This account has full control over your computer and anyone else who uses it. How To Run As Different User In Windows 10 You simply create a separate account for each user, set permissions accordingly, and then run the application from within that account. The “Run as different user” feature can also be useful for organizations who may want to manage multiple users on their computer with separate permissions. If you type the wrong credentials or don’t remember them, the app will be unable to run. It will then prompt you for your username and password. To use it, simply click the “Run as different user” button in the top menu of the program you want to run. The “Run as different user” feature is available in Mac OS X and Windows. For example, if you use a password manager like 1Password, you might want to run it as a different user so that it can’t see your main account’s data. This can be useful if you have another program that might need access to files or resources on your computer that you don’t want it to have access to. It’s nice if you’ve used retinol a few nights and then take a break to repair the barrier. In the winter I often use SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore because it’s heavily moisturising. I was sent this Korean brand, 107, to try and its Everyday Plump moisturiser is great fragrance-free, no allergens. The prescription products are about 20 times stronger and I will also try to use that on my neck and décolletage area, even the back of my hands if I remember. And other nights I try to use a retinol at 1% or 0.5% – I go lower in winter. I will use a prescription retinoic acid or tretinoin (a synthetic version) once a week if I can – sometimes in the winter I can’t. I have sensitive skin so I can’t use retinol or retinoic acid every night. My other go-to is Colorescience tinted mineral SPF50. The sunscreen I’m using (I did a little work with the company but I don’t get royalties or anything) is by LaSpa. In the morning I use vitamin C, a few drops of the SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic with 15% L-Ascorbic Acid, vitamin C serum, or cheaper alternatives by Drunk Elephant and Vichy. I do use water with that one and then I might use the micellar cleanser after that. If I’m wearing heavier makeup I use the creamy cleanser I helped create with a Canadian company Three Ships Beauty, called Harmony. I use the Bioderma micellar water to wash and remove makeup. I have maybe a glass of wine a week, because people who drink more alcohol will have more fine lines and wrinkles and it makes rosacea, eczema or psoriasis worse. And I have a mindfulness practice, because stress has a huge effect on the skin. I massage my face too, though I often forget. The ones for home use, you’ve got to do them most days to get results. I do have a professional red light machine, which was really expensive. I don’t do any peels, lasers or injectables. My skin is too sensitive for retinol, which is partly why I’m so passionate about being careful with sunscreen and diet. It’s probably better to use vitamin C in the morning, under your SPF, because it also acts as a protective antioxidant against UV, but because my sunscreen is so good, I don’t need that boost. After the summer, I get some pigmentation so I’ll add a vitamin C, like Clinique Fresh Pressed daily booster. Otherwise I use Elemis Pro-Collagen cleansing balm. In the evening, if I’ve been wearing makeup, I use Caroline Hirons cream cleanser. Without fail, I use the Eucerin SPF100, because I’ve been in one of those Visioscans that studies your skin protection and damage up close. Because I have dry, sensitive skin, I like to get a little bit of moisture before I apply my actual moisturiser which is, at the moment, Eucerin AtoControl cream. And then I use a prebiotic, Elemis Superfood multi mist. In the morning, I use Curél foaming facial wash. I also put marine collagen powder in my coffee. I try to get everything I need through my diet but I take vitamin D, and if I haven’t been eating oily fish, I will take omega-3. You need healthy fats because they’re anti-inflammatory, and act as internal moisturisers. You need good protein sources for collagen and cellular renewal. I make sure my diet is full of different-coloured fruit and veg – colours mean antioxidants. Thivi MaruthappuĬonsultant dermatologist and nutritionist, London. It’s a lot more controllable now but I steer away from things that aggravate it for me, including refined sugars and beige foods, but most of all stress. When I had really bad rosacea, I was prescribed antibiotics for six weeks, and a cream called Soolantra, which is very effective. I don’t use SPF in winter.Īt night, I wash my face and use moisturiser again but what I really should do is use a bit of vitamin A-based retinoic acid, where I’m just starting to get ageing lines. I use Kiehl’s Facial Fuel moisturiser and for sun protection I like Altruist, started by a dermatologist friend, it’s a good price and product: SPF30 or 50, depending on the day. I’m 50 and as you get older you produce less natural oils. I pat dry with a towel if you’ve got mild eczema or dry skin, rubbing can cause irritation. I get irritation from soap but I feel bad about having to recycle bottles. For showering, I use Sanex with zero additives. I use Gillette cartridge shavers, because the guards on them mean you’re less likely to cut yourself if you’re half asleep in the morning, with King of Shaves gel. I always check for ingredients that I think cause problems, like the preservatives MCI (methylchloroisothiazolinone) and DMI (dimethyl isosorbide). I prefer a little salicylic acid in the cleanser for a bit of exfoliation because, if you’ve got bits of dry skin on your face, the way the light bounces off it makes it look dull. I wash my face in the morning with a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil, or CeraVe. And her feelings are only made worse by his presence at Maddy’s birthday party, where she can only sit and idly watch on as Maddy insists on getting back together with Nate. Nate practically delights in exacerbating Cassie’s insatiable desire and debilitating guilt. Her cold, hubristic “bye” plants a victory, but Sydney Sweeney’s wide eyes suggest this is a game she can’t win. Is this her last-ditch attempt at scaring Nate into stopping his psychological torment? Or is this a tactic to make her more attractive to him? (After all, he tells Maddy that he loves her because she’s not as cruel as she appears to be.) Maybe it’s a bit of both. There’s also a lot you can read from the way she argues that she’s “crazier” than Maddy. Far from the angelic vision he had initially, Cassie is just as ferociously combative as Maddy. Of course, unbeknownst to her, her maybe ex-boyfriend is cheating on her with Cassie. “I feel like you ruined me forever,” she admits, but he jokingly dismisses her: “How does it sound romantic when you say it like that?” Euphoria has never really elaborated on Maddy’s complicated affection for Nate since the breakup, but here, she resigns herself to the fact that she can’t get away from him, even with the awareness of his pernicious effect on her. I do think Maddy’s babysitting job was just an elaborate justification for her and Nate doing Malcolm and Marie 2.0 at a SoCal mansion. When she’s with Jules, she’s the sober third wheel (or is forced to act like it, at least).įrom one love triangle to another, the Nate/Cassie/Maddy situation comes to a head at Maddy’s birthday party from hell. She resents that when she does partake in their drunken hedonism, she’s chastised for it. She resents that she has to sit in the back seat while Elliot and Jules have fun. I think it’s here where we see Rue’s pent-up anger from the train station finally emerge. A late-night trip to steal some alcohol turns sour when Rue starts drinking to Jules’s horror. But you can only keep an act like that up for so long. It’s only until he witnesses Rue and Jules arguing - and the insidious damage he’s caused - that he decides to confess about Rue’s relapse to Jules.Īs the three hang out at Elliot’s place, a fluid continuous shot illustrates the intricate high-wire act needed to pull it off: Jules and Elliot jumping away from each other just before getting caught Elliot heading to the bathroom to check the line left by Rue. He’s seen Rue’s vulnerability and love for Jules firsthand, and yet he doesn’t hesitate to ruin that the moment Jules thinks being called a whore is endearing. But he’s also quietly one of the most corrupt characters of the series. Woefully underwritten and lacking any interiority whatsoever, it feels like he exists just to inject some more chaos into Rue’s life. It’s here that the dreaded love triangle between Rue, Jules, and Elliot becomes a reality - though who knows why because Elliot is such a nothing character. (“Don’t tell anyone, but she might as well be going down on my ankle.”) To Jules’s embarrassment, the best she can do is perform an unconvincing fake orgasm. If she’s emotionally stimulated, the same can’t be said on a physical level - she’s too high to feel anything. “This may be the greatest thing that has ever happened to me,” Rue thinks. They’re as beautiful as a Frida Kahlo painting and bound together for life like Jack Twist and Ennis Del Mar. As Jules goes down on her, Rue imagines the pair of them as works of art. Since it’s an unspoken rule at this point that a Euphoria episode can’t start without a naked body or a sex scene, “You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can” begins with Rue and Jules under the sheets. That’s a testament to the power of Zendaya. (Sure …) But the real defining moment of this episode is Rue swaying by herself in her bedroom, her arms reaching out to embrace no one. Nothing has capitalized on her star power quite like Euphoria, and even when the show’s worst tendencies threaten to eclipse her, she still confidently carries every episode. “You Who Cannot See, Think of Those Who Can” sees Rue destroy the last relationships she had, culminating in a contrived hallucination with Labrinth in a church. It’s not because of its drama or beauty either. But why? It’s not because of Sam Levinson’s writing or his provocations, which are not only a frequent target of criticism but a bona fide meme at this point. And sure, my anticipation is filled with a healthy dose of trepidation, but I’m still excited nonetheless. Despite feeling underwhelmed every week, I still look forward to what’s coming next. Now that we’re halfway through this season, I’ve been thinking a lot about why I keep coming back to Euphoria. |
